Sakshi Tanwar is an Indian television and Bollywood actress. She is best known for playing the role of Parvati in the television soap opera, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on star plus. She is one of the leading ladies of Indian Television. Sakshi is the best TV actress among the various actors in Indian Television.
Sakshi Tanwar was born in a middle-class family from Alwar, Rajasthan. Her father Rajendra Singh Tanwar is a retired CBI officer. She was educated in many Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central School) and graduated from Lady Shri Ram college in New Delhi.
Sakshi debuted as an anchor on Doordarshan channel.She anchored Film songs based program ‘Albela Sur Mela’.Sakshi Tanwar was then seen acting in soaps like Ehsaas, Dastoor, Bhanwar, X-Zone before she got her big break of playing the central role in Rajdhani. The major turning point of her career came when she was offered the role of Parvati in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.
She also did films like “Saluun”, “Coffee House” and “C Kkompany”. Her next is with Sunny Deol in “Mohalla Assi”. Currently she is doing Bade Ache Lagte Hai a daily soap opposite to Ram Kapoor. The serial is enjoying tremendous popularity in India and abroad.

Sakshi Tanwar was born on 12 January 1973 in a middle-class family from Alwar, Rajasthan. Her father Rajendra Singh Tanwar is a retired CBI officer. She was educated in many Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central School) and graduated from Lady Shri Ram college in New Delhi.
After her graduations she was preparing for the entrance tests for the administrative services and mass communications, when a close friend of her suggested that she should go and audition for the national broadcaster Doordarshan’s film songs based program Albela Sur Mela. To her surprise she was selected and from there begun her journey towards television.
Sakshi Tanwar was then seen acting in soaps like Ehsaas, Dastoor, Bhanwar, X-Zone before she got her big break of playing the central role in Rajdhani. the role of Parvati in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii gave her a big break.
Sakshi has worked in other serials, including the very popular Devi,. She also did a digital film Kahin Door, directed by Sandeep Varma, in 2002. Her work in Colors most popular show Balika Vadhu, as Teepri was also well appreciated.
She appeared in a few movies in 2008, one of them being Coffee House, in which she was the main protagonist. She has also done a cameo role in Ekta Kapoor’s C Kkompany.
