Neelam Kothari wasn't the typical Hindi film actress who could fall into the genre of Hema, Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri or Aishwarya.
She closer to the likes of Parveen, Zeenat, Dimple and Sushmita, but lacked their valiant, sometimes brazen attitude towards acting and body display.
After a lukewarm debut called Jawani, Neelam went on to form a good dancing pair with Govinda. So smitten was Govinda with this cute little thing that he pursued her for months to marry him. Neelam did not oblige.

Time flew. Bobby married a certain Tanya and settled down to domestic bliss while Neelam found her soulmate in a certain Rishi Sethia, hailing from a London-based rich business family. Initially, even Rishi's family raised objections to having an actress daughter-in-law.
Rishi Sethia was madly in love with Neelam and defied his parents to be with her. Neelam Kothari finally married her prince charming in Hong Kong. Though her in-laws boycotted the wedding, Neelam's family and friends were there in full strength to support the Hindi film industry's cute little girl and wish her a long happy married life.
